Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle but powerful hands-on therapy that aids the body's own natural ability for healing. Biodynamic means it works with the body by tuning into the body’s tissue and fluid flows and listening to what the body needs.

CST (Craniosacral Therapy) works with all of the body’s tissues and natural fluid flows within the tissues and is based on the science of Embryology - "how we grow is how we heal".
The body holds stresses and strains which can impact on the tension of tissues and impair fluid flow. This can cause pain, decreased function and a lack of feeling safe in ourselves.

BCST (Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy) helps to access and build on our innate resources within. It allows us to meet and deactivate held life events and trauma in the tissues. This in turn can release associated areas of tension, improve fluid flow and restore balance. This creates a feeling of safety in the system and helps to direct the body to a return to health.

Erica has a special interest in the treatment of concussion stemming from her research in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) project work while training. Please get in touch should you have any queries with regards to Erica's research involvements.

It is a treatment suitable for all ages, from new born babies right through to elderly patients.

Erica is a registered with the Craniosacral Therapy Association (CSTA).

What to expect

The session will start with a history of the condition and previous health conditions. It is a hands-on light touch therapy and Erica will tune in to the tissue flows, ‘listening’ with her hands to determine where the body requires treatment.

Generally patients experience a sense of relaxation and calm in the system. There may be some experience of pain or discomfort, but working together to build the body’s resources, these can often be gently met and defused.

When treating babies or children, it is useful if they have a favourite book, toy or blanket to help them feel at ease with something familiar during the session.
